Roadmap

Right now I can't guarantee any schedule because I can work on this project only at leisure.

Version 1.1.8

  • Development infrastructure to check XMLs for compatibility with released pywebmail and python versions. (done)

  • Compatibility with more python versions. Tested CPython 2.2-2.5 and jython 2.2b2. (done)

  • POP3 retry. (done)

  • Auto-update of service XMLs from site

Version 1.1.9.1

So strange version number because it overwrites old bad attempt to release beta version that was revoked due to disasterous changes on Mail.Com.

Beta version to search for stability problems. Before renaming to 1.2, we must:

  • wait at least one auto-update cycle.

  • send question to Google Base team if this usage of their service is correct. And wait for answer of cause.

Version 1.2

Stable version with support for new providers - Yahoo, Netscape and Gmail. (see 1.1.9.1 - pre-release version)

After 1.2

  • Infrastructure to upload tested XMLs to auto-update system

Version 1.3.* plans

  • IMAP backend

  • split web access module (Quihenk)

  • static storage for downloaded messages

  • SMTP redirector (and possibly IMAP injector)

  • possibly test version of configuration utility

  • access to all backends from test webmail interface (i.e. complete web frontend)

  • migrate web frontend to WSGI

Version 1.4

Stable version

Unforeseeble future versions

Goal change: Infrastructure improvements

  • Port to MivMaz (may be 1.3)

  • Increase "download by forward" speed by forwarding multiple messages at once.

Feedback and questions concerning this site should be directed to pywebmail@list.ru.
